Tourism and standards - the topic of the new issue of “BDS Compass” magazine

An insidious virus has stopped our free movement to close and distant destinations. One of the most affected economic sectors is tourism, which has suffered huge losses, so the topic of the new issue of “BDS Compass” magazine is dedicated to this topic.

We present the new guide, elaborated in consensus by the international standardization community with the aim to unleash the lately lifeless sector and to try to ensure travel safety in a pandemic.

The choice of accommodation is one of the first issues that tourists face, so important standards are presented - from the terms and requirements to guidelines for sustainable development.

Each beach is unique and has its own characteristics, but the standards are the rules that lay down requirements and recommendations to the concessionaires to satisfy the visitors of the beach.

The standards help us also for health and longevity, the one that sets requirements for quality services in wellness and spa centres is not omitted in the edition.

Other important standards that help us travel with care for the environment are also presented.

Assoc. Prof Dr. Mariana Assenova shares her opinion on the importance of standards in tourism in several directions. The standards guarantee reliability in business relations, assuring the partners of a consistent level of quality of tourist services and products, according to the expert in the tourism industry.

The European visual identity in tourism is also presented - the new seal, which aims to promote the Old continent as a safe from Covid-19 destination to visit.
