Procedure for the provision of information in the field of standardization
(REGULATION (EU) No 1025/2012 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 25 October 2012)
The procedure for the provision of information in the field of standardization in compliance with Regulation (EU) 1025/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2012 regarding the European standardization aims at:
- creation and maintenance of the transparency regarding the standards
- prevention of the creation of technical barriers to trade within EU
- facilitation and acceleration of the European standardization
In conformity with this Regulation the national standardization bodies – CEN/CENELEC members:
- inform each other on newly developed standards at national level or amendments of national standards, unless they are not identical or equivalent ones to international or European standards
- ensure access to draft national standards in such a way that all relevant parties in particular those established in other Member States have the opportunity to submit comments
- allow other national standardisation bodies to be involved passively or actively, by sending an observer, in the planned activities
