Public enquiry is an important part of the standardization process needed to meet the requirements of transparency and consensus in the development of standards stemming from Regulation 1025/2012 on European standardization.
A Public Enquiry is conducted for national, European and international standards at the following stages:
Anyone interested can get acquainted and give an opinion on the project they are interested in.
The drafts of stage 40.20 of pure national standards are made available for online reading to all interested parties during the Public Enquiry.
The drafts of stage 40.20 of European standards are available for reading online to all interested parties during the Public Enquiry after registration on the BDS website or through your account, if you have one.
The drafts of stage 40.20 of international standards in particular areas are available for reading online to all interested parties during the Public Enquiry after registration on the BDS website or through your account, if you have one. You can get acquainted with the other projects, which are not available for reading online, on the spot in the BDS library.
You can express your opinion on the proposals for new work item by sending your opinion to the secretary of the relevant technical committee by e-mail and for new technical fields of activity – to the technical officer referred in the proposal by e-mail.
You can express your opinion on the content of the projects at all stages for new national, European and international standards by using your profile and filling in the proposed form.
