The aim of this standard is that to provide a guideline for characterization of waterlogged
Archaeological wood in relation to excavation and conservation.
The standard can be applied to the management of underwater sites, controlled reburial, insitu
preservation, or long term post excavation storage. (Composite artifacts of wood and other
materials are excluded from the standard.)
