Consumer equipment for entertainment and information and related sub-systems
Consumer equipment for entertainment and information and related sub-systems
To develop standards for audio, video and multimedia sub-systems and equipment for consumer use. This includes - receiving equipment for satellite, terrestrial and cable broadcasting services including associated data, - imaging, recording and reproducing equipment and components, - interfaces and interconnections between equipment, - user interfaces, - infrared systems and equipment, - methods of measurement, - harmonization of relevant IEC standards.
P member
Cable networks for television signals, sound signals and interactive services
Cable networks for television signals, sound signals and interactive services
To develop harmonised and other European standards and deliverables relating to cable networks including equipment and associated methods of measurement for headend reception, processing and distribution of television and sound signals and for processing, interfacing and transmitting all kinds of data signals for interactive services using all applicable transmission media. These signals are typically transmitted in networks by frequency-multiplexing techniques. This includes for instance - regional and local broadband cable networks, - extended satellite and terrestrial television distribution systems, - individual satellite and terrestrial television receiving systems, and all kinds of equipment, systems and installations used in such cable networks, distribution and receiving systems. The extent of this standardization work is from the antennas and/or special signal source inputs to the headend or other interface points to the network up to the terminal input of the customer premises equipment. The standardization work will consider coexistence with users of the RF spectrum in wired and wireless transmission systems. The standardization of any user terminals (i.e. tuners, receivers, decoders, multimedia terminals etc.) as well as of any coaxial, balanced and optical cables and accessories thereof is excluded.

Audio, video and multimedia systems and equipment and related sub-systems
Audio, video and multimedia systems and equipment and related sub-systems
To monitor the adoption in CENELEC of the technical work from IEC/TC 100 standards in the field of audio, video and multimedia systems and equipment. These standards include specification of the performance, methods of measurement for consumer and professional equipment and their system application as well as interoperability with other systems and equipment. To ensure that any deviation from the IEC standards, such as common modifications, special national conditions and A-deviations, is only in response to a clear and justifiable European need, such as European and national legislative requirements. To strive towards keeping international and European requirements aligned as far as possible (applying the different mechanisms of the Dresden Agreement). To coordinate the work with other standardisation organisations on European level, taking responsibility for applicable mandates from the European Commission and developing its own standards only when necessary. Standards and other deliverables prepared by Technical Area 5 (TA5) of IEC/TC 100 do not fall under the scope of CLC/TC 100X but are covered on European level by CLC/TC 209

Public address and general emergency alarm systems
Public address and general emergency alarm systems
To prepare a standard dealing with Requirements, performances and test-procedures for Public-Address-Systems (PA) and General-Alarm (GA) Communication-systems for marine applications. The standard is focused on all necessities to get a harmonized standard for marine PAGA Com. The standard refers as much as possible to relevant established standards. Where relevant standard do not exist or are not precise enough, this standard will describe additionally own definitions , requirements performances and test-procedures
P member
RF and microwave passive components
RF and microwave passive components
Standardization of RF & microwave passive components used in networks and cabling, including test methods for electrical, mechanical and environmental characteristics as well as product standards. Magnetic components and ferrite devices covered by the scope of TC 51 will not be dealt with by this committee.
O member
Audio, video and multimedia systems and equipment
Audio, video and multimedia systems and equipment
To prepare international publications in the field of audio, video and multimedia systems and equipment.

These publications mainly include specification of the performance, methods of measurement for consumer and professional equipment and their application in systems and its interoperability with other systems or equipment.

Note: Multimedia is the integration of any form of audio, video, graphics, data and telecommunication and integration includes the production, storage, processing, transmission, display and reproduction of such information.
O member
Transmitting equipment for radiocommunication
Transmitting equipment for radiocommunication
Standardization of transmitting equipment for radiocom- munications purposes and electronic devices employing similar techniques. The standardization work deals with methods of measurement, safety requirements and transmitter control and interconnection.
O member
Electronic displays
Electronic displays
Standardization, in the field of electronic displays and specific relevant components, of terms and definitions, letter symbols, essential ratings and characteristics, measuring methods, specifications for quality assurance and related test methods, and reliability.

Note: Where actual or potential overlap in scope with other TCs/SCs such as IEC/TC 47, SC 62B, TC 76, TC 77, TC 100, TC 111, TC 119 and TC 124 exists, coordination through liaison or JWG with the concerned TCs/SCs should be maintained or actively pursued.
O member
Electroacoustics
Electroacoustics
To prepare International Standards related to instruments and methods of measurement in the field of electroacoustics. Excluded from the scope are:
a) standards for sound and video recording as dealt with by TC 100;
b) standards for equipment in the field of audio and audio- visual engineering as dealt with by TC 100;
c) standards and terminology for ultrasonic techniques dealt with by TC 87.
NOTE. Close co-operation shall, however, be maintained with TC 87 in the fields of common interest.
