BOOSTING THE GREEN FUTURE VIA UNIVERSITY MICRO-CREDENTIALS
Project 2022-1-BG01-KA220-HED-000085821
On 1st of November 2022 the Bulgarian Institute for Standardization started its participation in the implementation of a two-year project funded by Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission: “Boosting the Green Future via University Micro-Credentials (B-Green-ED)" and managed by the Human Resources Development Centre (HRDC) – the Programme’s National Agency for Bulgaria.
The main objective of the project is to boost the European green economy and climate neutrality through the development of innovative practices in the higher education. This will be achieved through the implementation of micro-credentials which will educate university students in knowing standards which support the green objectives. The curricula will be designed in cooperation between the two national standards bodies and four universities participating in the project.
The ultimate objective is to facilitate the provision of flexible, accessible, and inclusive education on standards and standardization, which has been recognized as a gap in the European educational system. The improved university programmes will provide the industry with qualified young professionals who are able to meet the labour market needs and who can support the businesses with specific knowledge, skills and innovations to respond to the European policies and objectives in the transition to a green and digital economy.
The major project result is to have at least 10 micro-credential courses, on a digital learning platform, with training curricula and learning content related to standards in support of the European green transition. At the end, the micro-credentials will be officially recognized by the partner universities at national level.
